Bellingham to tell Dortmund he wants to leave

Jude Bellingham will inform Borussia Dortmund that he wants to leave the club after the World Cup.

Bellingham has starred during England’s campaign in Qatar to increase the interest around his talent, with Europe’s top clubs set to compete for his signature next summer.

Dortmund will demand a fee of around €150m (£130m) for the teenager, who is high on the wish-list of Liverpool, Manchester City and Real Madrid.

Sport Bild, as per the Mail, are reporting that Liverpool are leading the race for Bellingham’s signature with the player’s parents preferring a move to Anfield for the midfielder.

Jurgen Klopp is said to have insisted on the signing of Bellingham to the Liverpool board, with the 19-year-old viewed as the perfect player for the Reds’ rebuild in midfield.

He has formed close relationships with the likes of Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander-Arnold while with the England side and would refresh an ageing engine room on Merseyside.

Mike Gordon – director of Liverpool’s US owners ‘Fenway Sports Group’ – has reportedly already agreed to provide €100m for Bellingham, though Liverpool will need to find a method to raise further funds.

FSG are exploring the potential sale of the club, or acquiring outside investment from a sale of shares, which could provide further finances to secure a deal.
