Bayern Munich are growing increasingly confident that they can complete the signing of Manchester City’s Leroy Sane.
Having moved from Schalke in 2016 for £37 million, Sane has developed into one of the best wingers in the Premier League under the tutelage of Pep Guardiola, scoring 20 goals and providing 25 assists in the league over the last two seasons.
Despite his obvious talent, the winger was a widely questioned exclusion from Germany’s World Cup debacle last summer and has seemingly fallen down the pecking order at club level slightly, with Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva often being Guardiola’s preferred options in wide areas this season.
The 23-year-old still has two years remaining on his deal at Manchester City, although Guardiola revealed that the club have so far been unsuccessful in their attempts to secure him to a longer-term contract, and he could now be on his way out.
He has been linked with a return to Germany, with Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich on the lookout for additions in wide areas following this summers departure of Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery.
According to The Mirror, the Bavarian side are growing in confidence that they can secure a deal for Sane this summer having previously been linked with Chelsea starlet Callum Hudson-Odoi, with some reports suggesting a deal for the Man City man could be worth around £70 million.
