Barcelona are believed to be interested in signing out-of-favour Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen this January.
Despite making 40 appearances for the club in all competitions last year, the Denmark international has struggled for first-team opportunities under Maurizio Sarri this campaign and has been linked with an exit from Stamford Bridge.
Christensen’s frustration over his lack of game time has alerted officials at the Nou Camp, with the La Liga champions keen to sign defensive reinforcements.
The Spanish side had been linked with a move for Ajax’s teenage starlet Matthijs de Ligt but Sport are reporting their attention has now turned to Christensen.
It is believed the club’s sporting director, Eric Abidal, has made contact with Chelsea officials over a possible transfer but has been told the club have no plans to lose any first-team players this winter.
