Aston Villa host Fenerbahçe at Villa Park on Wednesday in matchday two of the Champions League league phase.
Unai Emery’s side beat Club Brugge 3-2 in Belgium on matchday one, scoring all three goals in the first half. They have not won at Villa Park this season, though, and drew 2-2 with Brentford on Saturday to sit 16th in the Premier League on five points. Fenerbahçe drew 1-1 with Roma in their opener and beat Çaykur Rizespor 3-0 in the Süper Lig on Saturday, which leaves them fourth on 13 points.
Villa are unbeaten in their last 13 home European matches, winning the last 10, and this is Villa Park’s first Champions League tie since April 2025. They have also won all three previous meetings with Fenerbahçe, the latest a 1-0 victory in Istanbul in the 2025-26 Europa League. İsmail Kartal’s side are the leading scorers in the Süper Lig with 19 goals, and Emery has described the match as “very difficult”.

They reached the league phase by beating Lyon in the play-off round before drawing 1-1 with Roma at home. Emery singled out Marco Asensio, Guendouzi, Greenwood, goalkeeper Ederson and Nathan Aké as dangers.
