Arsenal’s Dani Ceballos recalls his first experience of playing Liverpool

Arsenal new boy Dani Ceballos has discussed his first visit to Anfield last month, heaping praise on the performance of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side.

Ceballos made the move from Real Madrid to Arsenal this summer on a season-long loan, impressing on his Premier League debut with two assists in the 2-1 win against Burnley.

His next outing in a Gunners shirt took him to Anfield for the first time in his career to face high-flying Liverpool, a game which has seemingly left a lasting impression on the Spain international.

The reigning European champions ran out 3-1 winners as part of their flawless start to the season, with Ceballos seemingly astonished at the performance levels of Jurgen Klopp’s side.

“I’ve never seen anything like what I saw at Anfield,” Ceballos told the Guardian. “I haven’t seen a team that plays better, that presses like them, the way the fans carry them along.

“They take the air from you. You spend so much time defending and when you want to do something with the ball, when you want to breathe, they’re back on top of you. They’re very well-drilled.”
