Former Arsenal defender Lauren believes Unai Emery’s side should make moves for Manchester United’s Anthony Martial and Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele.
Dembele is rumoured to be unsettled at The Nou Camp and The Gunners have been linked with a move for the Frenchman whilst compatriot Martial, despite a recent upturn in form, has enjoyed a difficult relationship with Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.
Lauren, part of the 2004 ‘Invincibles’ at Arsenal, reckons his former side should make bids for the duo as they look for reinforcements in the coming transfer window.
“I think Arsenal should do everything they can to sign Dembele.’’ Lauren told SportingBet.
“Everything about his style of play matches what Arsenal are looking for.
“He isn’t getting the playing time at Barcelona, or playing in his strongest position, but Arsenal’s high intensity will allow him to reach his potential.
“If Martial doesn’t renew his contract at Man Utd, Arsenal would be crazy not to try and snap him up.
“He’s a fantastic player and is starting to show what he can really do when given a good run of games.
“Martial won’t go anywhere without being guaranteed first-team football, which I think he would get at Arsenal.”
Arsenal will be looking to continue their strong start to the season when they host fierce rivals Tottenham in Sunday’s North London derby. Unai Emery’s side can leapfrog Spurs with a win at the Emirates.
