Arsenal make highly rated Camavinga their ‘top priority’

Arsenal have made the signing of highly-rated Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga their ‘top priority’ ahead of the summer transfer window.

Camavinga has been linked with a whole host of Europe’s clubs following his emerge at Rennes, making his senior debut for the club as a 16-year-old and since establishing himself as one of the most exciting young talents in world football.

The 18-year-old made his debut for the France national side last year and has since won three caps, becoming Les Bleus youngest goalscorer for more than a century after netting against Ukraine in October.

Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and a host of Premier League sides have been linked with a move, though Le10 Sport are reporting that Arsenal have emerged as a shock contender to secure the teenager’s signing.

The north London side are reportedly doing everything to be ‘perfectly positioned’ in the race for Camavinga as Mikel Arteta seeks to overhaul his squad following a disappointing campaign at the Emirates.

Rennes are expected to cash in on the youngster this summer as he enters the final year of his contract, the Ligue 1 side set to demand a fee in excess of €50m.

Camavinga signed up with agent Jonathan Barnett last year in a move that could help facilitate a switch to the Premier League, Barnett’s list of clientele including stars such as Mason Mount, Jack Grealish and Gareth Bale.
