Carlo Ancelotti has outlined the improvements Moise Kean must make after the Everton forward scored his first goal for the club in the 2-2 draw with Newcastle.
Everton were left stunned after Newcastle scored twice in stoppage-time to snatch a dramatic draw at Goodison Park, though the home faithful will have been pleased with the performance of their marquee summer signing.
The Italy international has endured a difficult start to his career at Everton following his move from Juventus, but after being named in the club’s starting side for the second successive fixture opened his account for the Toffees following a through ball from Bernard.
Aside from his goal, the 19-year-old produced a much-improved display from his recent showings, earning a standing ovation from the home crowd upon his second-half substitution, though Carlo Ancelotti highlighted the need for him to improve ‘technically and tactically’.
“It was good for him, for his confidence, for a striker to score goal it was important,” said Ancelotti.
“He played really well, worked hard, pressed forwards, what I asked, he did. It was important for the team.
“This goal can give him more confidence in what he is doing, he is doing well.
“He has to improve; he is young and has to improve technically and tactically but he is in the right way.”
