Bayern Munich are monitoring Florian Wirtz’s situation at Liverpool in the event an opportunity to sign the midfielder opens up.
Wirtz has struggled to live up to expectations since his £116m move to Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen in 2025. The Germany international has five goals and four assists in 37 league appearances for the Reds, with scrutiny over his performances.
Liverpool beat competition from Bayern Munich to sign Wirtz, who arrived in the Premier League as a back-to-back winner of the Bundesliga’s Player of the Season award.
Wirtz reached 10+ goals and 10+ assists in each of his final two Bundesliga seasons and was an influential role in Leverkusen’s 2023/24 title success, achieved without losing a game. However, he’s been unable to replicate that form in English football to date.
Bayern retain admiration for the 23-year-old and TEAMtalk are reporting that the Bundesliga champions are monitoring his situation.
The German giants are reportedly ready to pounce should Liverpool lose faith in the midfielder, as the club struggle to get the best out of him. Bayern will assess the situation at the end of the current season to see if a deal is viable.
