Man United told Juventus full-back target not for sale

Manchester United have been dealt a blow after Juventus informed the club that transfer target Pierre Kalulu is not for sale.

Manchester United have been dealt a blow after Juventus informed the club that transfer target Pierre Kalulu is not for sale.

Michael Carrick had made Kalulu a focus ahead of the January transfer window as the Red Devils turn their attention to defence. United have invested heavily in central midfield and their forward line across the last two summer windows and view a rebuild of the backline as the next priority.

United have Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw and Lisandro Martinez all out of contract in 2027, with decisions to be made on their futures.

Kalulu has been a long-term target with the Frenchman’s ability to cover multiple defensive roles appreciated at Old Trafford.

United tried to sign a left-back in the closing stages of the window, but were frustrated in an attempt to sign Lewis Hall from Newcastle United. Hall has since signed a new long-term contract at St James’ Park. Tentative enquiries were also made for Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Juventus have insisted that Kalulu is not for sale, with the 26-year-old considered a central figure in Turin.

Liverpool had also been linked with Kalulu, who ranks in the top five full-backs in Serie A so far this season for aerial duels won, passes into the final third, and forward passes.
