Gareth Bale wants to stay at Real Madrid for the rest of his career despite Zinedine Zidane’s return as manager, according to the player’s agent Jonathan Barnett.
The Welsh star has endured a difficult time in the Spanish capital of late, finding himself on the fringes of the first-team and having been booed by the club’s home support.
The 29-year-old has failed to establish himself as a key player at the Bernabeu, despite the exit of Cristiano Ronaldo last summer, and was named only as a substitute by Zidane in last season’s Champions League final.
Asked during a lengthy interview with the BBC if Bale will stay at Real, Barnett replied: “Yes, why not? He wants to play all his career for Real Madrid and if it does not work out, we will talk again.
“He will talk with Mr Zidane, take it from there and then see at the end of the season.”
Bale has been linked with a return to the Premier League, with former club Spurs a potential destination.
