Tammy Abraham the latest England youngster to be linked with a move to the Bundesliga

Red Bull Leipzig are preparing a £30m move for Chelsea youngster Tammy Abraham.

The 21-year-old has enjoyed an outstanding season on-loan at Championship side Aston Villa, scoring 22 times in 33 appearances for the Midlands outfit.

Abraham’s form has attracted the interest of Leipzig, who could look to make the twice-capped England international the latest young talent to swap the Premier League for German football.

The Bundesliga side are targeting a potential replacement for German international Timo Werner, who is being linked with a big-money move away from the club this summer.

Abraham has been extensively scouted by Leipzig in recent weeks, with club officials having been left impressed by the forward’s performances.

According to Football Insider the club are now readying a bid in the region of £30m for Abraham, which would tempt Chelsea into parting with the academy graduate.

Chelsea’s plans could depend on the outcome of their appeal against a FIFA imposed transfer ban, with the club currently unable to register any new players for two transfer windows.

Should their appeal prove unsuccessful, Abraham could be welcomed into the first team squad next season, with doubts surrounding the futures of their current senior striking options.

French forward Olivier Giroud is out-of-contract at the end of the season, though the club do have an option to extend. The former Arsenal striker has been linked with a move away having fallen out-of-favour this season.

Gonzalo Higuain may also return to Italy, the January signing having so far failed to impress since arriving on-loan, with doubts remaining over whether manager Maurizio Sarri will turn the forward’s move into a permanent switch.
