‘Stay healthy!’ Germany manager Nagelsmann sends Kai Havertz World Cup message

Germany manager Julian Nagelsmann has said Kai Havertz has ‘everything’ the national team need from their centre-forward.

Havertz has had a difficult campaign at Arsenal with injuries restricting the forward to just seven starts in the Premier League. After a knee injury decimated his start to the campaign, Havertz returned for the run-in to help Arsenal win the Premier League title.

The 26-year-old scored the winner against Burnley in midweek, a result that helped confirm Arsenal as champions after Manchester City failed to beat Burnley.

Nagelsmann has sent Havertz a clear message ahead of this summer’s World Cup, suggesting he will be Germany’s number nine if he can remain fit and healthy, despite competition from Deniz Undav and Nick Woltemade.

Havertz has scored 21 goals in 57 caps for Germany since making his international debut in 2018.

“On the pitch, you are outstanding. Incredibly important for us,” Nagelsmann said, as per Sky Sports Germany.

“Stay healthy, clear your mind and go for it. You have everything we need to have a top goalscorer up front.”
