It’s been a tough season for Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho with the Portuguese coach coming in for some fierce criticism from the media and sections of the Old Trafford clubs fan base.
Although United are have been in second place in the Premier League for almost the entire season, they sit a whopping sixteen points behind their local rivals Man City in the table, and have never really looked like being able to compete with Pep Guardiola’s superb side and mount a series title challenge.
Mourinho’s men were also embarrassingly knocked out of the Champions League and Carabao Cup by Sevilla and Bristol City respectively.
Not everybody agrees with the view that the former Chelsea and Real Madrid coach is doing a poor job at Old Trafford however.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic who recently left United to join MLS side LA Galaxy has insisted that Mourinho is still the Special One.
“I like Mourinho. He is the Special One,” Zlatan told ESPN FC.
“He likes to win. Wherever he went he won. He made me feel comfortable. He gave me a lot of responsibility. He said to me the only problem he had with me was when could he rest me.”
