Ian Wright believes Manchester City dealt with the pressure of the title race ‘a tiny bit better’ than Liverpool.
Pep Guardiola’s side were crowned champions following a 4-1 win at Brighton on the final day, becoming the first side to retain the Premier League title since Manchester United achieved the feat in 2009.
Liverpool’s 29-year wait for a top-flight title continues, with former Arsenal forward Wright believing City coped with the pressure of the title race slightly better than their rivals.
”Manchester City are one of the best teams we have ever seen in the Premier League, and Liverpool have run them close,” Wright told the BBC.
”It’s been an incredible title race and both teams have done it the proper way – playing entertaining and exciting football and scoring a lot of goals.
”Even with the pressure that both of them have been under for the past few weeks, they have not changed the way they played. Both of them coped with that pressure extremely well, it is just City coped with it a tiny bit better.”
During his appearance on our Podcast this week, we asked Chris Waddle who was the most over rated player you played against?
