Wolves sack Jackett!

With just 1 week to go until the Championship action gets underway, Wolberhampton Wanderers have sacked their manager Kenny Jackett.

The club were subject to a takeover mover by a Chinese consortium last week, and had indicated they were looking forward to working with the former Millwall boss, as well as giving him significant funding for the clubs relatively small squad.

However, Wolves have confirmed that they have relieved the manager of his duties, and club director Jeff Shi told the club website:

I would like to sincerely thank Kenny for everything he’s done for the club over the last three years.

Jackett took over the club in May 2013 after their relegation to League One, and helped guide them back to the Championship at the first attempt.

The club have however stalled in midtable recently, finishing 14th last season.
