Saint Etienne defender William Saliba has emerged as Arsenal’s ‘top summer transfer target’.
The 18-year-old has enjoyed a breakthrough campaign for the French club this summer, making 19 appearances and establishing himself as one of the country’s most promising young talents.
Arsenal boss Unai Emery is desperate to add to his defensive options this summer, as he looks to bolster an often fragile backline.
According to Goal, Emery is targeting a move for teenager Saliba, having been impressed by the 6ft 4in defender’s performances in Ligue 1 this season.
Saint Etienne are believed to value Saliba at around £25m, with the club braced for summer interest in the youngster.
Emery is desperate to add young talent to a squad which missed out on a top-four finish, though the Spaniard’s transfer plans will be boosted should Arsenal beat Chelsea in the Europa League final later this month and secure Champions League qualification.
