West Ham unveil Wan-Bissaka ahead of Man Utd double transfer

West Ham United have confirmed the signing of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, allowing Manchester United to move forward with a double transfer for Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui.ย

The right-back joins the Hammers on a six-year contract for an undisclosed fee, which is widely reported to be around ยฃ15 million.

The deal is their eighth signing of a busy summer window and comes hot on the heels of a trio of majors transfers announced by the east London outfit.

West Ham last week announced the arrival of Jean-Clair Todibo from Nice after capturing centre-forward Niclas Fullkrug from Borussia Dortmund and free agent Guido Rodriguez.

The club also spent big money on acquiring Max Kilman from Wolves and Crysencio Summerville from Leeds United, as well as signing Luis Guilherme and Wes Foderingham.

Now that Wan-Bissaka has left Old Trafford, Man Utd can finalise the signing of defenders De Ligt and Mazraoui from Bayern Munich as they seek to overhaul their backline.

The Dutch international will move for a transfer fee worth up to โ‚ฌ50 million, including โ‚ฌ5m in add-ons, and ink a five-year contract that includes the option for an additional year.

Mazraoui, meanwhile, will join theย Premier Leagueย outfit after Bayern accepted a transfer proposal of โ‚ฌ15m plus โ‚ฌ5m in bonuses for the full-back.

The 26-year-old arrives as as Wan-Bissaka’s replacement on the right side of the defence, which conceded more goals (58) in 2023/24 than any previous United team in a single Premier League campaign.

Commenting on his move to West Ham, Wan-Bissaka said: “I see a team that is in it together, that will push each other to win, and a group that has got each others’ backs through thick and thin, so being part of that and having that insurance helps a lot when you are surrounded by a good squad.”
