West Ham to hijack Everton transfer

West Ham United are planning to make a last minute attempt to hijack Evertons move for Aston Villa midfielder Idrissa Gueye.

According to The Sun, the Hammers have also joined the race to sign the relegated Aston Villa midfielder who was one of the only bright sparks of what was a miserable season for the Midlands club.

It is thought that a move to Everton is almost complete after they agreed to pay the players £7.1million release clause, but Slaven Bilic has also agreed to match that figure and is awaiting permission to speak to the player.

Marseille are also interested in signing Gueye, who moved to Villa Park last summer from Ligue 1 club Lille.
