Timo Werner is in talks over a transfer to New York Red Bulls after concluding an 18-month loan spell at Tottenham Hotspur.
Werner has returned to RB Leipzig after an underwhelming stint in North London, in which the German scored just three times in 41 appearances.
Leipzig are keen to offload the 29-year-old on a permanent basis and have held talks with sister club New York Red Bulls over a deal. No agreement has been reached but Sky Germany are reporting discussions are ongoing over a permanent move.

Werner is Leipzig’s record goalscorer with 113 goals but has struggled to find form since first leaving the German side in 2020.
He joined Chelsea for a fee of £47.5m and won the Champions League in his debut campaign but has failed to reach 10+ goals in a league season since netting 29 for Leipzig in 2019/20.
New York Red Bulls are currently seventh in the MLS Eastern Conference table after losing last season’s MLS Cup final to LA Galaxy.
Red Bulls want to partner Werner with another ex-Bundesliga forward, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, who joined from Bayern Munich ahead of the 2025 season.
