Leicester City are close to completing the permanent signing of Monaco’s Youri Tielemans.
The Belgian international impressed during a loan spell at Leicester in the second half of last season, with manager Brendan Rodgers determined to secure the midfielder on a permanent basis.
His performances since moving to the Premier League were reported to have attracted the interest of clubs across Europe, with Manchester United and Tottenham amongst a host of sides said to be keen on a deal for the 22-year-old.
However, according to the Leicester Mercury, the Foxes are now close to landing their top summer target in a deal which is likely to be a club-record fee.
Adrien Silva, who joined Monaco on-loan following Tielemans arrival, is not believed to have been included in the transfer.
Tielemans is flying to the UK to complete the formalities of the switch, having expressed a desire to return to the King Power Stadium following his successful loan spell.
The midfielder will become Leicester’s third first-team signing of the transfer window, following the addition of Luton Town defender James Justin and the £30m capture of Newcastle forward Ayoze Perez.
