Here are three differentials to consider for your Fantasy Premier League team to give you an edge ahead of Gameweek 4.
A differential in FPL is any player who is owned by less than ten percent of managers in the game, while also gaining a lot of points.
We scoured through the numbers to find the best under utilised players ahead of Gameweek 4’s deadline, which is Saturday at 11.30am.
Three FPL differentials to consider for Gameweek 4:
Sebastien Haller – £7.4m
The West Ham United striker took until the third game of the season to open his Premier League account, but he did so by scoring twice against Watford last weekend.
New recruits are problematic for FPL managers as it can be hard to tell if they will adapt to English football or if they’re any good at all. Following his performance against the Hornets, we can safely say Haller looks like the real deal.

In 180 minutes of action, the Frenchman has had five shots, all of which have come from inside the box, giving him a goal conversion rate of 40%.
Haller also has the best value in terms of expected goals, costing £7.4 with an xG of 2.0. With Norwich City coming up next, expect plenty of goals on both sides.

Ashley Barnes – £6.6
The former Austrian youth international has been on fire in the past year, scoring 16 goals since the beginning of last season. He already has four in the first three games, making him one of the most in-form strikers in the Premier League right now.
Barnes has taken an impressive 13 shots so far, ten of which were inside the box, meaning he has a goal conversion rate of 30.8%. He also has the best value in terms of goals scored, costing just £6.6 while sitting joint third in the top goalscorer standings.

When it comes to attacking output, Burnley are usually a turnoff for FPL managers, but the Clarets have been more willing to go on the offensive this calendar year, in turn getting the most out of Barnes at the same time. And at 9.9% ownership, he just about squeaks in as a differential.

Manuel Lanzini – £6.5
Another West Ham player, but their attack looks to be coming good just as they face a Norwich team that gives up a lot of shots.
Lanzini has provided assists in successive games for the Hammers, already equalling last season’s tally when he played just under 700 minutes.

The Argentine has played every minute thus far, completing a whopping ten attempted assists with an xA of 0.7. No other differential has made more attempted assists than Lanzini, with only Norwich’s Emiliano Buendía able to equal it.
Buendia’s statistics mirror Lanzini’s very closely in fact, and he costs slightly less at £6.0, so he might be a cheaper alternative, but I think West Ham have somewhat more favourable fixtures upcoming. Plus, Lanzini is only owned by 3% of managers!
