Alan Shearer has praised the performance of Chelsea’s youngsters in their 4-1 win at Southampton on Sunday.
Frank Lampard’s inexperienced side moved level on points with fourth-placed Leicester following a comprehensive win at St Mary’s, with England youngsters Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount both once again on the scoresheet.
Teenager Callum Hudson-Odoi has also returned to the first-team following his lengthy injury layoff and provided the assist for Abraham’s opener, and Premier League record goalscorer Alan Shearer admits these are positive times for Chelsea having been left impressed by the trio’s impact.
“They’re not bad at all, three very exciting players,” Shearer said on Match of the Day 2.

”The energy they have, the link-up play, and the understanding they have.
“They ran riot all afternoon, and they weren’t far away from each other.
“They were a threat, those three, all afternoon.
“Abraham and Mount in the full England squad, Hudson-Odoi back from injury and in the England u21 team, it’s looking very good for them.”
