Ten FPL bargains for the 2024-25 season:
Goalkeepers
Djordjeย Petrovic – Chelsea (ยฃ4.5m)
Djordje Petrovic took the number one shirt at Chelsea last season, replacing Robert Sanchez following a mixed start for the Spaniard. The Serbian shot-stopper proved a solid option as Chelsea improved to secure European football across the run-in.
Improvement is expected from Chelsea this season given their recent investment and a ยฃ4.5m entry into one of the Premier League’s ‘Big Six’ looks sound value.
Carlos Miguel – Nottingham Forest (ยฃ4.5m)
Nottingham Forest’s search for presence has landed at the 6ft 8in behemoth that is Carlos Miguel. After a patchy recent record with goalkeepers, Forest hope the big Brazilian is the man to solve their shot-stopping issues. Last season, only the Premier League’s top three recorded better xGA (Expected Goals Against) figures than Forest, who will look to be defensively sound under Nuno Espirito Santo.

Defenders
Joachim Andersen – Crystal Palace (ยฃ4.5m)
Joachim Andersen has avoided a price rise despite returning a healthy 121 points in 2023-24. No defender priced under ยฃ5m this season recorded more points than the Danish defender in the previous campaign. Crystal Palace ranked fourth for clean sheets (10) and fifth for xGA last season.
Leif Davis – Ipswich Town (ยฃ4.5m)
Promoted players often offer value in FPL and Leif Davis should attract plenty of interest. The Ipswich left-back won the club’s Playersโ Player of the Year award after recording a league-leading 18 assists in the second tier. His set-piece threat could be invaluable to Ipswich’s bid to stay up, though the Tractor Boys face a tough start to the season.

Taylor Harwood-Bellis – Southampton (ยฃ4m)
Another name from the promoted trio, Southampton’s promotion saw the ยฃ20m obligation to buy in Taylor Harwood-Bellis’ loan from Manchester City activated. The centre-back made 43 league appearances for the Saints last season and a ยฃ4m guaranteed starter is hard to ignore.
Midfielders
Christopher Nkunku – Chelsea (ยฃ6.5m)
Christopher Nkunku might be the most excitingly priced player in the game. The Frenchman’s first season at Chelsea was ruined by injuries, leading him to be priced at just ยฃ6.5m for 2024-25.
However, Nkunku’s reputation means he could make a mockery of that price point. The 26-year-old scored 58 goals across his final two seasons at RB Leipzig and showed sharpness amid limited football in the Premier League. He averaged a league goal (3) every 145 minutes for Chelsea in a glimpse of what he can offer.

Dwight McNeil – Everton (ยฃ5.5m)
Everton were set-piece masters last season with only Arsenal (20) outscoring Sean Dyche’s side from dead-ball situations (19). The Toffees’ threat was in large part thanks to the dangerous deliveries of Dwight McNeil, who racked up 124 FPL points.
Dyche’s game plan is unlikely to change drastically this season, with McNeil a key part of Everton’s approach.
Morgan Rogers – Aston Villa (ยฃ5m)
Morgan Rogers was a surprise signing at Aston Villa, arriving from Middlesbrough in the January transfer window. The 21-year-old was eased into the side but showed flashes of his talent across the run-in, averaging a Premier League goal or assist every 160 minutes (3G, 1A) across his nine appearances.
With Moussa Diaby in talks over a move to the Saudi Pro League, Rogers will hope to cement a place in Unai Emery’s team. If he can do so, his ยฃ5m price tag could be a snip.
Forwards
Joao Pedro – Brighton (ยฃ5.5m)
Joao Pedro looks set to be a popular selection after starting the 2024-25 FPL campaign at just ยฃ5.5m.
Pedro scored 20 goals in 38 appearances during an impressive debut campaign with the Seagulls and at ยฃ5.5m looks fine value. The caveat of Pedro’s performance is that just nine of his goals came in the Premier League, while 50% (10) came from the penalty spot. However, the 22-year-old is a player of real potential and will hope to build on an encouraging first season at the Amex Stadium.

Jorgen Strand Larsen – Wolves (ยฃ5.5m)
Selecting new imports into the Premier League in your initial draft is always a risk, with uncertainty surrounding how overseas signings will adapt.
Jorgen Stand Larsen is among the eye-catching potential bargains, however, after signing for Wolves from Celta Vigo in a โฌ30m deal. The 24-year-old is a physical handful at 6ft 4in and arrives after an impressive campaign in La Liga.
Strand Larsen scored 13 league goals, none of which came from the penalty spot, and ranked third in Spain’s top division for xG and non-penalty xG, fifth for shots, and sixth for shot on target.
