TAA insists Liverpool are excited about Premier League and Champions League run in

Trent Alexander-Arnold says Liverpool are excited as they prepare for the Premier League and Champions League run-in.

Jurgen Klopp’s side currently lead the Premier League by two points from Manchester City, who face rivals United at Old Trafford on Wednesday, and will meet Spanish giants Barcelona in the Champions League semi-finals.

Liverpool have not won a major trophy since League Cup success in 2012, and Alexander-Arnold admits the players are excited ahead of the run-in and the prospect of silverware.

“Hopefully we’ve got six games left,” Alexander-Arnold told reporters after the weekend’s win over Cardiff.

“It doesn’t sound too much but when you’re putting everything into it you need players to come in and out.

“It’s good to be able to bring different players in.

“Now the weather plays a bit more of a part and you have to put a bit more effort in. It’s exciting.

“Every game you want to play and it’s good when the manager has that faith and trust in you to play.

“We have to recover as soon as possible because we know we’ve got a tough run of fixtures to go. We’re excited.”
