Wojciech Szczesny says he ‘cant tell why’ Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil fails to produce on a consistent basis for the club.
The Juventus goalkeeper, who played alongside Ozil at The Emirates from 2013-2015, praised the 30-year-old’s ability and admits he is at a loss to explain the German’s inconsistent displays.
Ozil has struggled to establish himself in Unai Emery’s plans this season, making just 18 Premier League appearances and scoring four goals.
Szczesny was full of praise for Ozil, denying his former teammate was ‘lazy’, but admits the former Real Madrid playmaker has struggled to ‘stabilise his form in the Premier League’.
“Seven times he’s brilliant, two times he’s horrible,” Szczesny told YouTube channel ‘Foot Truck’.
“He’s not lazy as people say. Great guy.
“He can’t stabilise his form in the Premier League and I really can’t tell why.
“He has unbelievable vision on the pitch.
“You watch a match on TV and you’re like, “how has he seen that?
“I haven’t and I’ve got the whole screen on TV.”
