Tottenham are closing in on the £25m signing of Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side have been long-term admirers of the highly-rated teenager, with the two clubs having now agreed a fee of £25m plus midfielder Josh Onomah.

The England U21 international is regarded as one of the country’s brightest prospects, having starred as Fulham won promotion from the Championship in 2017/18.

Sessegnon, who can play at left-back or further forward, struggled to replicate that form in the Premier League last season as Fulham were relegated, scoring just twice in 35 appearances.

Fulham were reluctant to let the academy graduate leave as they plot an instant return to the top flight, but with the 19-year-old having just one year remaining on his contract, they will allow him to make the move across London.

The Telegraph are reporting that Onamah will head to Craven Cottage as part of the deal, the 22-year-old having struggled to establish himself at Spurs.

Onomah has made just 32 first-team appearances for Tottenham since his debut in 2015, and has previously enjoyed loan spells in the Championship with Aston Villa and Sheffield Wednesday.

Sessegnon’s arrival is amongst a host of activity anticipated at Spurs on deadline day, with the club also trying to complete deals for Real Betis midfielder Giovani Lo Celso and Juventus forward Paulo Dybala, although a move for the latter is said to have fallen through.
