Mauricio Pochettino has suggested that Tottenham could finally move into their new stadium next month.
Harry Kane’s goal sealed Tottenham’s progress to the Champions League quarter-finals in a 1-0 win over Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund, with the North London side going through 4-0 on aggregate.
Speaking after the win in Germany, Pochettino suggested Spurs next European tie could be played at the newly developed White Hart Lane stadium, which is due to be played in early April.
“I expect to play [the next round] in the new stadium,” Pochettino said in his post-match press conference.
“We were talking with (chairman) Daniel Levy on Monday and yes, my wish is to play in the new stadium.
“Before the game, we were sitting listening to the song of the Champions League and we were thinking it would be amazing to be standing in the new stadium, listening to the song.
“Now we are in the quarter-finals, we hope we can finish and we can listen to the [Champions League] song.”
