Tottenham and Atalanta are still €10m-€15m apart in their valuation of Cristian Romero as the north London side continue their pursuit of the defender.
The two teams have held discussions over a deal for the Argentina international, who was named as Serie A’s best defender for the 2020/21 season after helping Atalanta to Champions League qualification.

Romero is understood to be keen on a move to the Premier League and has agreed personal terms with Spurs, though the two clubs remain someway apart in their valuation of the 23-year-old.
According to Fabrizio Romano, writing in SportsKeeda, Spurs are willing to pay between €40m-€45m plus for Romero, with Atalanta holding out for a figure of €55m for the highly-rated centre-back.
Should Spurs agree a deal, Romero will become the second player to swap Atalanta for the north London side this summer following goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini’s arrival on a season-long loan deal.
Spurs are in need of defensive reinforcements after allowing Toby Alderweireld to join Qatari outfit Al-Duhail this week, the experienced Belgium international departing after six seasons with the club for a fee of £11.7m.
Juan Foyth has also joined Villarreal in a permanent £13m deal after spending last season on loan with the Spanish side.
