Tottenham Hotspur remain confident of securing a deal for Fulham star Ryan Sessegnon.
The England U21 international has been a long-term target for Spurs, who want to sign the 19-year-old with Danny Rose’s future at the club uncertain.
Full-back Rose has been tipped to leave the club this summer and has not joined the squad for their pre-season tour of Asia, the England international having been given permission to pursue potential interest amid speculation linking him with a host of clubs.
Tottenham view Sessegnon, who can play at left-back and further forward, as a long-term replacement for the 29-year-old and are hopeful of completing a deal.
According to the Evening Standard, Mauricio Pochettino’s side are hopeful a bid of around £25m will be enough to persuade their London rivals to part with the highly-rated teenager.
Fulham were initially demanding a fee of £40m for the youngster, however Sessegnon has just one year remaining on his current deal and the club are likely to sanction his sale, rather than risk losing him for a nominal fee next summer.
