Son Heung-Min has urged Tottenham to ‘enjoy’ their crunch Champions League quarter-final clash with Manchester City.
The South Korean scored the only goal as Spurs beat City 1-0 in the first leg last week, with Mauricio Pochettino’s side looking to protect their advantage when they travel to Manchester on Wednesday night.
Spurs will be without the injured Harry Kane, the forward having been substituted in the first leg with a serious ankle injury, though Son is confident his side can still progress to the last four.
The 26-year-old called on his side to ‘fight’ together as a team, though he says Spurs must ‘enjoy’ the occasion.
“I just enjoy the football,” Son told the Mirror.
“This is what I can only do, and [what is] best to do.
“Everyone, not just me, should enjoy Wednesday’s game and scoring and winning the games. We should not put this pressure on ourselves about these situations.”
“We are 1-0 up but it’s only halfway,” he cautioned. “We have to go there and do what we did last Tuesday.
“We need to fight all together as a team, and enjoy the game. There’s nothing better than the Champions League quarter-finals at the moment. So we should just enjoy the moment and the game, but we should fight for the game.
“Of course Harry’s a big miss for us. But we have a big squad. Lucas showed that with three goals.
“Everyone is ready for this race and every single game. Of course we are happy with this result but we have many games left until the end of the season. I hope we can keep up this level of performance.”
