Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has provided updates on the fitness of Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood ahead of Manchester United’s clash with Brighton this weekend.
Manchester United host Brighton on Sunday looking to strengthen their place in the Premier League’s top four, though the Red Devils head into the fixture with a number of concerns over their attacking options.
Marcus Rashford withdrew from international duty with England last week with a foot injury, whilst Mason Greenwood was also ruled out of the England u21 side for the European Championship.
Solskjaer has revealed that both players have since returned to training, but says the forward duo will be assessed ahead of the clash with the Seagulls at Old Trafford.
“They [Marcus and Mason] need to get through the session tomorrow [Saturday],” Solskjaer told his pre-match press conference.
“They both joined in this morning and hopefully they don’t get any reaction. If they complete the session tomorrow they’ll be available for selection.”
Solskjaer also confirmed that both Anthony Martial and Victor Lindelof are doubts for Brighton, the former having picked up a knee injury whilst on international duty with France.
Martial had missed two of the Red Devils’ previous three games with a hip injury before linking up with Les Bleus for World Cup qualification last week.
“Neither of them [Anthony nor Victor] trained this morning. We are still waiting for final confirmation on how they are.”
