Manchester City’s bid to regain the FA Cup remains on course, the holders cruising past Championship side Fulham with a 4-0 win at the Etihad earlier today.
In all honesty, this fixture felt all but over after just six minutes when Fulham defender Tim Ream was sent off for taking down Gabriel Jesus in the area, with Man City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan stepping up to slot home the resulting spot-kick.
Pep Guardiola’s men showed no mercy to their opponents and their pressure told in the 19th minute when Bernardo Silva fired home a powerful strike from the edge of the area.
City’s place in the hat for the fifth round draw would be confirmed in the second period with Brazilian striker Jesus netting a brace of headers.
Despite the Citizens chances of regaining their Premier League crown being all but over, they remain in with a chance of winning the Champions League, FA Cup, and Carabao Cup, and veteran midfielder David Silva admitted afterwards that he and his teammates remain eager to add to their impressive collection of silverware between now and the end of the season.

“I think we play well. It was good for us from the beginning because we play with one more man. We play well, we scored the penalty,” Silva told BBC Sport.
“Hopefully we can win more titles this year.”
Highly-rated academy graduate Phil Foden was once again impressed after being handed a start in the cup competitions, and club legend Silva is predicting a big future for the talented 19-year-old.
”With Phil it’s easier now, he’s young but got a lot of quality.
”He’s a talented player and he will play more and we are in good hands.”
