Luke Shaw has hilariously trolled former Manchester United teammate Romelu Lukaku following Inter Milan’s exit from the Champions League on Tuesday night.
The Italian giants crashed out of the competition at the group stage following defeat to Barcelona at the San Siro, Antonio Conte’s side finishing third behind last night’s opponents and Borussia Dortmund.
Former Manchester United forward Lukaku took to his Twitter back in October to post an image of him preparing for a Champions League clash in seemingly positive mood, the photo simply captioned ‘UCL’
However, the Nerazzurri’s defeat in Milan last night would prove to be the last fixture the Belgian would play in the competition this season, their third-placed finish in Group F seeing them drop into the Europa League.
United left-back Luke Shaw was quick to troll the 26-year-old by digging out Lukaku’s old tweet and welcoming him back to Europe’s secondary competition, where the two former teammates could potentially meet in the latter stages with United’s qualification to the round of 32 already assured ahead of Thursday night’s meeting with AZ Alkmaar.
