Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has been discussing the praise he routinely gets from some of the biggest names in football.
Scholes won an amazing 11 Premier League titles during his Old Trafford career, and is widely regarded to be one of the finest midfielders of his generations.
Greats of the game from Xavi, Zinedine Zidane and Lionel Messi have regularly spoken of their admiration for the immensely talented former England international and he has admitted that he feels both embarrassed and flattered by the plaudits he receives:
“(I’m) embarrassed mainly, but flattered as well. These aren’t just run of the mill players or coaches, these are the best players to have played the game. It’s really nice, and it gives you a boost when you read stuff like that,” he told beIN Sports.
“Is it true? I don’t know, but it’s what they think so I’ll take it.”
