Maurizio Sarri has warned Chelsea not to ‘undervalue’ Dynamo Kiev as they prepare for their Europa League Round of 16 second leg on Thursday night.
Chelsea travel to Ukraine holding a 3-0 advantage from the first leg at Stamford Bridge last week, and Sarri has warned his side against complacency in the return fixture.
The Blues will be without Gonzalo Higuain for the clash, the Argentine forward did not travel with the squad and will miss the game with a fever.
‘Mentally it’s a very difficult match, because we can undervalue the opponent,’ Sarri told a pre-match press conference.
‘I know very well they are dangerous. I saw their other matches in the Europa League and they played very good football. They played very well in the last match here against Olympiakos.
‘So it’s a very dangerous match for us. We need to go on the pitch with the target to win the match, not to qualify, otherwise we will be in trouble. Our target is to win the match, and qualification will be a consequence.’
