Maurizio Sarri has admitted that there is a chance that N’Golo Kante could be fit for tomorrow nights Europa League final.
The dynamic Frenchman suffered a hamstring injury in the 10th minute of Chelsea‘s 3-0 win over Watford on May 5th, an injury which saw him miss the draws against Eintracht Frankfurt and Leicester.
He did manage to return to training last week ahead of Wednesday’s Europa League final, only to pick up a knee injury over the weekend, with the two-time Premier League winner claimed to be in ‘clear discomfort’.
However, speaking ahead of the game in Baku, Maurizio Sarri has said that Kante still has a chance of playing, rating him 50-50.
“He has a very little problem with his knee,” Sarri said in his pre-match press conference. “The problem is the timing. We have only four days. We are trying.
“At the moment, we don’t know [if he will be fit]. We will try until the last moment.
“I think [his chances are] 50-50 at the moment. Yesterday 60-40 no, today 50-50. He was a little bit better this morning, but 50-50.”
