Sarri expecting ‘strange results’ in race for top four

Maurizio Sarri says he is expecting ‘strange results’ as the race to finish in the Premier League’s top four reaches its conclusion.

Chelsea are currently in a four-way fight to finish in the final two Champions League places, but after seeing rivals Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester United all lose this weekend, the Italian is expecting more twists and turns ahead of the run-in.

‘So we have to try in the Premier League to get in the top four,’ Sarri told a pre-match press conference.

‘It’s not easy for us because we have to play only four matches, but we have to try. I think in the last four, five matches it will be very difficult for every team involved in the fight for the top four, not only for us.

‘I think we can see some very strange results in the last part of the season, we have only to fight and see at the end.’

Chelsea host Burnley at Stamford Bridge on Monday night, knowing a win will lift them above both Spurs and Arsenal to third in the Premier League.
