Sarri confident his side are ‘improving’ despite recent wobble

Chelsea got off to the best possible start to life under Maurizio Sarri after the Italian manager joined from Napoli to replace the outgoing Antonio Conte during the summer.

However, a recent run of just one win in four league games means Sarri’s side have now fallen 10 points behind Manchester City at the top of the Premier League.

Chelsea face Pep Guardiola’s brilliant Man City team at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.

Speaking today, Sarri reminded everyone that at the end of last season there was a 30-point difference between them and City.

“We started with 30 points of difference between us and City and we have to work hard to reduce the gap. I think we are improving, but so are they, so it is difficult to reduce the gap.’’ Sarri told his pre-match press conference.

”We have started the season very well but now we have to face some difficulties which is normal. We have to solve problem by problem day by day,”

Saturday’s fixture promises to be an entertaining clash between two good footballing sides and if Sarri’s men can take something from the game then it could have a huge impact on this season’s Premier League title race.
