Jose Mourinho has revealed that he is still waiting to know the fitness of a number of players in his Manchester United squad.
Manchester United earned a fair bit of praise for their midweek performance against Arsenal, where they put in an energetic and positive display to earn a draw against the high flying Gunners.
However, it was a squad that had to be cobbled together by Jose Mourinho just hours before kick off, with Eric Bailly, Chris Smalling and Marcos Rojo all making themselves available for the game.
However, Phil Jones and Luke Shaw missed out, while Anthony Martial picked up a knock during the match, leaving Mourinho once again guessing on what the state of his squad will be ahead of this weekend’s game against Fulham.
“[We are] still waiting for conclusions, still waiting for people like Martial, Smalling, Jones – people with these kind of doubts,“ Mourinho told MUTV.
“But there is a good spirit and people are putting themselves on the line like Chris did in the last match and Jones did against Southampton. That’s important when we have so many matches and problems with some players.”
United are currently eighth after a miserable start to the campaign, eight points off the top four.
