Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri believes his side have a ‘great opportunity’ to finish in the Premier League’s top four after Sunday’s 2-1 win at Fulham in the West London Derby.
Sarri also believes Tottenham, with just one point in their past three fixtures, have now been dragged into the battle for Champions League qualification and reckons there are now four teams battling for the final two places behind Manchester City and Liverpool.
‘We had a great opportunity because we were five points from the top four but with two matches [in hand]. Now it’s two points.’ Sarri told his post match press conference.
‘We are trying to involve Tottenham in the fight, and now I think they are involved. Better for four teams for two places than three for one.
‘We will have to fight until the last minute in the last match. But we are fighting and in the last four matches we did well. A minimum [level] of consistency has arrived, but we have to continue.’
