Brendan Rodgers has reminded his Celtic stars that they have a duty to play entertaining football.
Celtic have won the Scottish Premiership title in all of the last seven seasons, but have found the 2018/19 campaign more of a battle, currently sitting six points behind league leaders Hearts, and one point behind surprise package, Kilmarnock.
However, they did manage to get one over the league leaders at the weekend, dumping them out of the Scottish League Cup on Sunday with an impressive 3-0 win at Murrayfield, and with a league clash against Dundee on the horizon tonight, the former Liverpool boss has reminded his side of their responsibilities to entertain.
“Entertaining is our duty, and we always want to play attacking football. On Sunday, defensively, we kept a clean sheet and that allows you to create opportunities,” Rodgers said in his pre-match press conference.
“There’s no compromise from us. We attack and we have to defend well. That was the part of the game I was pleased with – we didn’t give away too much.
“It’s a process. We’ve been working very hard in the training field and reassuring the players, and they have that ability to focus and continue to believe.”
