The Eden Hazard to Real Madrid saga seems like one that is set to rumble on forever, but the latest reports emanating from Spain claim that the deal could be completed ‘in the coming days’.
Hazard has long been a target for Real Madrid, with the Belgian doing little to dissuade their interest in him, frequently lifting up his skirt and throwing a cheeky wink in the direction of the 13 time European champions, often describing a move to the Bernabeu as a ‘dream’.
Zinedine Zidane’s return to the Spanish capital reportedly came about after the Frenchman was handed more control over the club’s transfers, and the former France international midfielder is a self-professed fan of Hazard, who has just one year left on his deal at Chelsea.
With the Blues set to be under a transfer embargo for the next two windows, they would of course be unable to sign a replacement for their mercurial playmaker, although it has been reported that they would be willing to sanction a transfer this summer while the 28-year-old can still command a significant fee.
Now, Madrid based publication Marca are claiming that Chelsea and Real Madrid are ‘close to reaching a total agreement’ regarding the transfer of the number 10. They add that Hazard will ‘soon travel to Madrid’ to complete the move where he will sign a six-year deal.
However, there is no mention of any transfer fee in the report or the reported wages that Hazard would be set to earn.
