Chelsea are becoming increasingly hopeful that Callum Hudson-Odoi will sign a new contract at the club.
The 18-year-old has attracted interest from the likes of Bayern Munich and Liverpool, with contract negotiations with Chelsea stalling as the teenager seeks assurances over his playing time.
Hudson-Odoi earned his first two caps for the senior England side during the international break, becoming the second-youngest player to start a competitive match for the national side after Wayne Rooney.
The winger is yet to start a Premier League game for Chelsea and wants assurances he will be given opportunities before committing his long-term future to the club.
The Independent are reporting that Chelsea is now optimistic Hudson-Odoi will sign a new contract, with the academy graduate’s current deal running until 2020.
Hudson-Odoi is believed to want a new deal befitting his status as one of the country’s most promising talents, whilst Chelsea are unwilling to sanction a sale with the club facing a FIFA imposed transfer ban.
The future of Eden Hazard may also play a role, with the Belgium international being linked with a move to Real Madrid. Should the 28-year-old depart this summer, there would be increased first-team opportunities in the forward positions for Hudson-Odoi.
