Carlo Ancelotti’s side did move top of the La Liga table at the weekend. A 4-1 win over Las Palmas, coupled with Atletico Madrid’s shock defeat at Leganes, saw the champions move to the summit.
Los Blancos will start as strong favourites against a Salzburg side struggling this season. The Austrians are fifth in the table domestically and have lost five of their six European games.

Eduardo Camavinga is a major doubt, though David Alaba made his long-awaited return as a substitute against Las Palmas. The centre-back has missed more than a year with an ACL injury.
