Sadio Mane is apparently a ‘top transfer target’ for Spanish giants Real Madrid after yet another impressive season for Liverpool.
The forward has once again starred as a key part of Liverpool’s famed attacking triumvirate alongside Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah this season, the Reds opening up a 25 point lead to the summit of Premier League table.
With nine games still to be played of the currently postponed campaign, Liverpool require just six more points to clinch their first league title in 30 years, Mane having scored 14 goals and providing nine assists in the league in what has been a relentless campaign from Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Those numbers are already his second highest number of goal involvements (23) since making his move to Anfield, the Senegalese registering 24 last time out (22 goals, two assists).
According to the Sunday Mirror, Mane’s form has prompted the attention of 13 time European champions, Real Madrid, who are looking to reinvigorate their ageing side. The Liverpool number 10 is still firmly in his prime – only turning 28 next month – and he is said to have been made a ‘top transfer target’ by the Bernabeu based outfit.
The report claims that Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is a ‘huge admirer’ of the forward, with Los Blancos claimed to be ‘confident’ of being able to tempt him to switch Merseyside for Madrid.
Understandably, it is said to be acknowledged that it would take a ‘whopping’ offer for the European champions to agree to sell one of their most prized assets, who still has three years remaining on his current deal, the report suggesting an offer in excess of £130 million could be required.
