Real Madrid are weighing up whether or not to make a £100 million bid for Chelsea star Eden Hazard according to reports this morning.
Chelsea’s season is in turmoil having been defeated by Tottenham at the weekend, a result which all but certainly will see the miss out on next season’s Champions League after they slipped eight points behind their London rivals.
There have long been rumours linking Hazard with a move to a Real Madrid, with Zinedine Zidane known to be an admirer of the Belgian, who in turn has also admitted that he would be keen to work with the France legend.
Now, with Chelsea looking like missing out on the Champions League for the second time in three seasons, it has been thought that Los Blancos would be making a bid in the region of £100m for Hazard. However, the London Evening Standard claims today that Hazard’s form this season has left them to reconsider his signing.
Hazard has failed to score or create an assist in the last five appearances and was subdued in both of Chelsea’s recent Champions League games against Barcelona, although he was asked to play in his unfavoured position as a central striker.
With Real Madrid also having a difficult season, the reigning European champions are under pressure to strengthen their squad to overhaul the huge gap in La Liga to rivals Barcelona.
