Boost for Liverpool as Real Madrid prefer to sign Chelsea star

Liverpool have been handed a boost today with the news that Real Madrid President Florentino Prerez does not rate the Reds star attacker Mohamed Salah as the type of ”Galactico,” signing he wants to make this summer.

Salah has taken the Premier League by storm this season after his £38 million move from Roma last summer. The Egyptian international has bagged a sensational 36 goals in all competitions, which has inevitably lead to reports that Spanish giants Real Madrid would try and prise him away from Anfield this summer.

However, highly respected Sky Sports Journalist Guillem Balague has revealed that the current European Champions do not see Salah as the kind of big name signing they are after, and would rather sign Chelsea star Eden Hazard.

“Salah is a difficult one because Real Madrid have no mention of him as a candidate to be a Galactico,”

“You can think there is a market in Egypt and he is a star of the Premier League – he has a lot of things to go for him – but if they get Hazard they won’t need Salah.

“It seems like they wouldn’t put that much money into Salah.” Balague said.

Chelsea’s superb playmaker Hazard has been heavily linked with a move to the Bernabeu for some time now, and the 26-year-old so far failing to agree a contract extension with the Blues has only intensified speculation.

Yesterday Hazard said his only focus was on finishing the season strongly with his club and then trying to have a successful World Cup campaign with his country. Although he has in the past spoken of how much he would like to work with Real manager Zinedine Zidane.
