Real Madrid are confident that a bid of £100 million will be enough to finally sign Manchester United goal keeper David De Gea this summer.
Real’s new manager Julen Lopetegui, who was sensationally sacked as Spain coach today, is eager to link up with the Man United goalkeeper again in the Spanish capital.
In what has been one of the longest running transfer sagas in the history of transfer sagas, the MEN are reporting that Los Blancos President Florentino Perez is convinced that he will finally be able to land the 27-year-old ‘keeper that he has chased for so long.
De Gea of course almost joined Real in the summer of 2015, only to see his proposed move back to his home City collapse at the last minute due to a faulty fax machine.
The Spain international has developed into one of the World’s top ‘keepers since moving to United from Atletico Madrid in 2011, and any deal to bring him back to his homeland is expected to obliterate the highest ever transfer fee for a goalkeeper.
De Gea currently only has one year left on his contract at Old Trafford, although United have an option to extend his deal by a further year.
