RB Leipzig insist they have had no contact regarding in-demand forward Timo Werner despite reported interest from the Premier League.
The Germany international is attracting interest from some of the biggest sides on the continent following a prolific season with the Bundesliga title challengers, scoring 27 goals in all competitions so far this season.
Liverpool have been strongly speculated to be interested in signing the 23-year-old this summer, with Werner recently talking up the possibility of a move to Merseyside by describing the European champions as ‘the best team in the world’, while Man Utd and Chelsea have also been linked.
Despite the reports, however, Leipzig sporting director Markus Krosche insists his side have received no approaches for the forward at present, and remains confident of keeping Werner out of the clutches of Europe’s elite.

“There has been nothing at all,” Krosche reportedly told Bild, as per the Mirror. “But it’s normal that Timo gets into the focus of other clubs. He’s playing a very, very good season and scores very, very often
“Timo has a long-term contract and there are not many things that favour him leaving us.
“We play Champions League, we have a super coaching team and we still want to achieve a lot.”
Leipzig current sit second in the Bundesliga and trail leaders Bayern Munich by three points, whilst the club will also look to protect a one-goal advantage when they host Tottenham in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie next week.
